Regional Business Guide Part Time

International client looking to hire a regional guide with local environment expertise to support occasional small-scale import/export trade throughout the Middle East. A good candidate will have previous experience of working and living around the region and will be able to use this knowledge to support he client to understand local business and living conditions, including accompanying business travel. The individual must be available to work for up to 4 days per month with the potential to increase the number of days in the future. A successful candidate would need to be flexible, but this opportunity could fit around other personal and professional commitments. This is not a full-time position. Visa sponsorship not available.

Required Skills:

–          Previous experience in import/export trade.

–          Previous travel experience in the region.

–          Understanding of cultural and business nuances in the Midde East.

–          Must be able to work independently and sometimes under time pressure.

–          Ability to and experience of working with international clients from a range of different backgrounds.

–          Must be willing to travel and sometimes at short notice.

–          Must be proficient in either Arabic, Persian (Farsi) or Turkish.

–          Must have a strong working knowledge of English.

Desirable Skills:

–          Knowledge of the Middle East trade routes and logistics.

–          Familiarity with regional trade agreements and regulations.

–          Network of contacts in the Middle East trade community.

–          In-depth knowledge of Middle Eastern geography and infrastructure

–          Ability to navigate unfamiliar cities and towns.

–          Knowledge of local health and safety protocols.
